John Wayne Gacy

 The concept of the stolen name, is as old as Judas Didymus Thomas, the man who assassinated Jesus in the criminal apocrypha of Roman thieves’ guilds, and snuck out of Judea with the completed Biblical text, in the Jewish-Sicilian Mafiaso stories of the New World. Neither of these are factual, by admission of own teller, if believed to be removed from happhassance (the term for ability and authority to dictate) by own organization. However, they both demonstrate potent tools of logic, the change of a name to someone else’s to frame them in evidence files, and of course, the ability to build on someone else’s legend to steal their life, a common trick on theater and stage.

The trick, of course, is in one’s own mind, making it possible to compile a false life off an innocent alias, to be removed with a swift suture by changing the name of the now victim, the man with the false legend, placing him in an alleyway some place overseas, with a bottle of schnapps or maybe a bud of opium, depending if you prefer New York City or Kabul, the two common locations where spies retire, the former for a poor performance, the latter for a king disappeared.

Enter John Wayne Bundy. A humble repair man and handyman, the only work he could scrape past as a young man, he was portly, a relation to a few mob families out of Canada and the Midwest, and of course, had a famous name to brag about, something which most people pan upon. His bad luck began with the famous Ted Bundy case, the similar names not serving him well. Then, came the disastrous decision, by a counselor, to suggest a change of name, to avoid such a thing as being Ted Bundy. An unknown syndrome, until the John Wayne Gacy case.

Changing his name to John Wayne Gacy, from John Wayne Bundy, we now find a neurotic syndrome, where the history of the prior, becomes a trap for the new name, that avoided the prior name. This disorder could be given a name, but why do that, when you can use a sociology case study as a reference, an actual science, as opposed to a psychiatric disorder, a fake name for court to indicate that someone has been abused by the namesake of the disorder in literary or factual notoriety.

John Wayne Gacy, from the slip change of the name, became a greater version of Bundy in act, but a lesser version of Bundy in skill. Developing a transgender disorder, the term common with this particular type of case (changing a name to avoid someone’s name, instead of changing a name to emulate them), the sexual nature of the crime (a serial killer involving a state of claustrophobia, hence a murder has an open air element, displaced into someone else’s range of comfort) was inverted, making him difficult to catch.

Instead of tracking victims into an agora, he lured them into his home, in a claustrophobia. Here, we see the nature of the disorder, turning each victim, into Ted Bundy, before killing them, a purge of absolution for John Wayne Gacy, that being an inversion of the artistic concept, a Machiavellian, instead of a Borgian. Borgia, relies on placing the self into an exultation of the power sparing, while Machiavelli, is placing the power perceived to harm, on the victim as self for reason removed. Without Borgia or Machiavelli, this wouldn’t have happened, however that’s the common term of nomenclature in any case given homicide, the first murder having happened because of names, at least in the testament of the Bible, not a true story by chance of common origin, but of course truth as a case study; sociology.
